I'm putting in an aftermarket steering wheel but I came across my car having the switches for the cruise control in the wheel n there was a ring like object that has 3 wires on it through a tab... Is there a safe way to remove that

If you want your horn to work its best to trim down the connect for that so the hub will fit on.

I removed cruise control years ago. Never wanted it back. Bugs me knowing that my foot is not controlling the throttle.

I remember when I was young and always tossed things like cruise, power steering and a/c. I'm old and won't live without those things now.

Never lost power steering. Got ac working. Will not use cruise.

You must not do long distance driving :)

Supra gas pedal is quite heavy as it is, and cruise control gets me better MPG anyway.

I come from a land down under
Each to his own, I like things to "work"... if I don't want to use something I don't turn it on but if it's there it should function as expected.

Most of the threads I see here with people deleting systems are usually because they can't get them to work or are too cheap to spend the $$$ then try to justify it as "Cleaning up the engine bay" or "I don't use it" ;)

That makes way too much sense. Myself, I like having stuff work because I paid for it.

Not much anymore but used to do 4-5hour road trips all the time. Never had a issue of my foot getting tired. 1jz gas pedal is a lot lighter as well. Very touchy.

Op the wires are for horn and cruise control. Its a clock spring so wires dont wrap around the steering column when turning.. IIrc it was a white wire for a horn but cant remember.

Well... the 1JZ doesn't really have provisions for CC anyway unless you go to the JDM setup that moves the pedal :)

You at least have a reason :p
