Removing brake handle??

What the golly?
Is there a trick to slipping the cable from the handle assembly once everything is unbolted? This is ridiculous for something that seems like it would be such cake.

Remove the nut and pull the cable out.

There's also 2 bolts holding the cable to the e brake assembly.

I had to remove the driver's seat to pull the assembly out.

I have all the seats out, i took off the two bolts holding the rear elbow thingy, the 16 and 18 that hold the bracket to the tunnel, and i have removed the two 10mm adjusting nuts. The trouble starts when that straight adjuster collar hits the transition in the curve, there's not enough room to back it out straight.

Bah, I just pried that little retainer tooth back and slipped the cable around it. I didn't notice it wasn't a weld until I posted the photo. I guess my car isn't the only thing getting old! Lol.
