heres the problem i turn the car on and it idles rough at 500 rpm then will die, i have to hold the gas petal to keep it idleing and i cant rev past 1500. i removed both plugs one at a time and both at the same time to try and see if it was one or the other but it ran the same rough at 500. is this a sign that its time to replace both because i already cleaned isc and adjusted the tps with a n/a one into my 7mgte and new spark plugs and battery with cables. any info would help. engine ran better before i touched it before it wouldnt hold an idle till it warmed up and it would idle at 1500 perfectly (thats with playing with idle speed screw but i could rev to whatever.):aigo:

Have you checked your ECU codes?

There are several things that could cause your problem. Instead of throwing parts at it, check your ECU codes and get a multi-meter to find the bad part. Could be a boost leak, your TPS just needs adjustment, the ISC, etc.

You dont want to mess with the screw on the throttle body...it's set at the factory. Why do you think Toyota removed them on the late model versions ;)

Guys - this thread is 6 months old, the OP fixed his problem, the Cygnus site is back up (and has been for a long time) ;)

sesshoumaru revived an old thread!
