Relocating PS Reservoir

Anyone got any pics of their PS reservoir relocation?

I'd like to find a good reservoir about the same size as the stocker that has more flexible mounting options (i.e. doesn't have half an akwardly shaped bracket attached to it already, like the stocker) and that doesn't have a 15 year old clogged screen. Mine needs to be replaced, and if I gotta change it out I may as well move it out of the way of the CPS and the turbo.

Would the hydro fan oil bottle have the correct capacity and input and output sizes/locations? I like where I've seen it mounted, right between the air filter housing and the strut tower--way away from everything on the engine.

I know some of you have been creative with this; let me know what kind of solutions you have come up with.

I was thinking about something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-...yZ107066QQssPageNameZWD6VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Also, doesn't the 7MGE have a remote mount reservoir b/c of clearance issues wtih the distributor? Where exactly does it mount?

Yeah, that would work, it looks like it uses AN fittings, so you would have to make custom lines, I would look for one with "barb" fittings, thats what mine are. Here is a pic of mine, the one by the fender is for the PS. You can see more pics in my build thread.

Ahh yes, thats a sweet setup you got for the airbox. I'm thinkin about doing something like that....eventually. What did you use for the sides of the box?

Thanks, All the info is on my build thread ;)

Good info, everyone, thanks for the replies.

I was wondering about the AN fittings on the aluminum tanks I was seeing on eBay; I'd rather keep it as simple and cheap as possible. jimi87-t, where'd you find those tanks? And that setup is truly a thing of beauty--so mean, so clean!

IJ, I thought that's around where the NA reservoir was; it's hard to find pics of any NA engine bays-I couldn't picture its location for sure in my head.

dcrusupra87--don't worry man, jimi87-t's setup is a true conversation piece. I figured once super nice custom setups like that were posted in this thread, there'd be lots of talk about the whole setup.

I'm figuring not many people get rid of the stock reservoir unless: a) They really need the room for their turbo setup or b) They've gone gung-ho and are cleaning house underneath the hood. In either case, their engine bay is going to be an awesome conversation piece :icon_bigg

Thanks man, I got the tanks at a local "hot-rod" shop. But I think I have seen them on ebay from time to time, you might also look at Summitracing.com.

I knew! I knew, I swear!! 7MGE = NA!!

LOL

I went on a quest for 7MGE engine bay pics before creating this thread--I promise I always try my hardest NOT to look like a total dolt when I post, and I try very hard to search before posting anything--I hate wasting other people's time with the same questions that have been asked over and over--but I just couldn't find anything about the ps reservoir setup on the 7MGE equipped Supra. Now that I think about it, I should've turned to the shop manual.

/me is a n00b. :nono:

Maybe I just suck at searching on the forums?

And as always, I'm very gracious that you have stepped forth and posted a response, and take any criticism in stride as I realize I am the young grasshopper here on the boards...I admire those of you that have not only put so much work into your cars, but also take the time to give back to the Supra community.

EDIT: It's official, I do suck at searching the forums. IJ's pic he posted in this thread came straight from his build gallery. Should've just searched harder...

Yea man, i looked at all 142 pages on the 7m technical discussions looking for information on swapping from N/A to 7M-GTE and how to build up a 7M-GTE. It's rough. But it's gotta be done. Look hard and look everywhere. Research and read. You'll learn quickly.
