Got some good progress this weekend. Put a pilot bearing in the crank which proved to be very difficult. Installed the clutch and flywheel. Put the trans on the motor and dropped the motor in. :)

It looks insane!! A load leveler really helps lol I wouldnt have been able to do anything without mine. It gets a little awkward for like 10 minutes but then its cake.

How does the shifter hole look inside the car?

Shifter looks really good. Didnt have to cut out any of the hole. Although the tranny mount bolts didnt exactly line up, had to take the tranny mount off and make the holes longer.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Got some more things done today and yesterday. Laid the harness in got quite a bit of the wiring done. Just need to finish up the alternator wiring, coil wiring, TPS wiring, ISC wiring, and I think thats it for the wiring. Also got the DM fuel bypass hole installed in the rail along with the injectors and the wiring, had to extend the injector wires only a few inches. I ran the harness under the lower runners, only good way for the knock sensors to reach.

You only have to cut out the shifter hole a bit if your car was an automatic originally. If you put a 1jz/2jz engine , then you cut out the front a bit to give more space . If you are isntalling a 7mgte , then you trim the back are slightly. there is enough space, but sometimes due to vibration, the tranny shifter housing will rub. cutting will prevent that.
This is from my experience.
