I was having problems with my tranny not wanting to go into 2nd or grind a little. This was really noticeable in the mornings. It would grind a little if I quick shifted at a certain RPM.. I just changed to Syncromesh and in the mornings it shifts a lot better.. I still get a little grind every now and then but it is a lot less..

that apparentely is quite common for our cars (my tranny doesn't grind at all so im happy) but i cant seem to find the reason as to why.

I can see a rebuild pretty soon.. I am pretty sure it's the syncro's.. I can RPM match and it shifts find.. But right now the little grinds have been way less since the fluid change..

Had the MT90, loved it....for a while. When a first added it, my shifts felt like butter. After about two months the performance started to decrease and the knotchy feel came back, but it no way felt as harsh as before I added it. Overall
good stuff, but I noticed a decrease in performance after a while.

Ive run both on 2 different supras. They both cleared up harsh shifting immediately and seemed about the same. Be careful not to use any that have additive for LSDs already mixed. Its no good for trannys. Read the bottle before you put it in

great point.

it's easy w/redline though- MT-90 and MTL are for transmissions....beware of their "normal" 75w90- it has friction modifier in it!

I used Amsoil 80w90 in my trans, but it was notchy as hell.
No grinding though! lol
If I were to do it again, I would use MTL as I've heard good things about it, but nothing like personal experience.

BTW: Pennzoil makes a Synchromesh equivalent and it's only about $6/qt at Autozone IIRC.

I have used a mix of 2qts. MT90 and 1qt. Synchromesh. That works nicely. I also used straight Synchromesh which isn't very thick but still does not grind. Next I'm going to try what the Doc said, heavy shockproof, when the warm weather rolls around. I would say you'll be fine with any of the choices in your poll, Julio.

I put MT90 in mine. Greatly improved morning shifting and stopped grinding going into 2nd. I still have a problem with downshifting back to 4th gear, even with rev matching it still grinds. I was told that is caused by a worn clutch... ?

I used MT90 and I think it might have helped. It took a little while but after I put it in, but I swear it stopped grinding as much.
