Just a brief introduction to the Supra community. Finally got the car I've been after since the early 90s. Literally found the little old lady from Pasadena with a Red 1990 MkIII Turbo automatic hardtop with 61K original miles on it. I'm not the mechanic most of you seem to be so I've found a local ex-racer who had an MKIII to do the mechanical. He tells me the engine is in great condition and running strong. Head gasket looked at, re-torqed and okey at this time. Seats are age worn but look great compared to some of the pictures I've seen on the site. Plan to keep the car as stock as posible but interested in maybe getting the sawblades chromed. I'm located in middle Washington state. Won't mind suggestions on who can recover the stock leather seats after I get the paint redone in Viper Red. Enjoying the supramania site/very educational for someone like me.

any way the wind blows
Ooh, pictures of said red?
You should look into getting a set of 91-92 5 spoke wheels instead of sticking with the sawblades. But if you like them, thats cool too!

Welcome. :)

Sorry about the lack of pictures. The car is in storage out of town and I don't have any of it yet. I'm using the car only when our winter weather and the crap they spray on the roads is gone.

Welcome! Sounds like you got a great pickup- a low mileage and well running Supra.

I think it's also cool you're planning on keeping it stock. It's becoming harder to find a well running Supra that's without mods. I have done and plan on doing just a few things to give it some more pep and then keep maintaining it.

There are quite a few on here who have stripped the sawblades and polished them up to look really nice. My bro-in-law is actually planning on doing this and putting them on his truck. Search for polished sawblades and you should get quite a few results.

I'm planning on getting some custom leather seats done also. I know leatherseats.com does some for the MK3, and I'm pretty sure I've seen a few other sites that people have mentioned on here. I'd search for that as well.

Glad to have you join.

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions on the sawblades and seats

I just received an email from the friend storing my MkIII with a picture attached. I'm not sure how to move the picture from my computer picture file to post it on my Supramania introduction. Can you give me a hand??

Then copy the tag it provides for the picture after it has been uploaded. Paste the [IMG] tag into the reply box here on SM. Select [Preview Post] to make sure it came out. That should do it. :icon_bigg[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the help. The only picture I have was posted today.

WHY chromed sawblades????????

I've been looking at the pictures of the wheels on other MkIIIs and the ones with chromed sawblades look great and seem to fit the car's look. Goes along with my plan to keep the car stock as much as possible.
