and it RRd? I mean if you don't want to send it out to get fixed RR is just melted sauder if you want to pop the casing

The extended warranty doesn't cover Japanese systems. As for fixing it, I will. It just sucks when you buy something new at a premium and you still have to fix it yourself sometime later down the line because it came broken from the factory. So it's not really worse, but the same as a BHG :icon_razz

1 word: Walmart

Trust me they will take ANYTHING back :biglaugh:. They're too stupid and underpaid to care.

On the 60GB and 80GB PS3 systems: SD and MiniSD card readers.
And Sony's pro duo sticks. There's a compact flash slot too but I haven't seen one of those ancient cards in years.

I know that, but I mean how far do they check out the system?

Do they get all of your information in case it stops working?

I don't intend to try this 'trick' I am just curious.

I'm fixing a RROD for my friend, which is out of warranty. The towel trick did work for a good 8 hours, so I'm wondering if someone would have taken that in at gamestop.

RROD returned of course, so I am fixing it properly when I get some time. After opening it up, I found a cake of dust covering the heat sinks. There was basically no air flow getting in.

However, these days, repair doesn't seem as worth it. The XBOX 360 arcade bundle is going for $169 shipped at dell.com right now. So I'd just grab one of those. It is supposed to have the newer low power draw chipset.

They do have a better chipset as does my elite...

They check it when you turn it in, but once you leave they are responsible for the system, so if it gets the ring after you turned it in its their problem...

I am fairly sure that's correct.
