Hey guys, I was thinking about getting some new tires on my MKIII and I wanted to find out the manufacturers recommended load index. Anyone know off hand what It would be?

Consider that the car weighs nearly 2 tons (over that with passengers), so I'd try to get some tires with at least 1200 lb ratings. Pretty much anything in a stock size or larger should cover you there though.

Yeah I looked at the book, no load rating listed. Speed rating in ZR, as in V and up IIRC. Like others have said, most known brands in a 225 50 16 will do just fine with stock wheels.

Ill do some digging too, I looked at my work and they did not have the load ratings in the system which is weird because if we sell tires for cars we need to know what the minimum load index is so we don't go under that. I snatched up a pair of 225/50/17 93S, I believe, used tires made in 2012 with about 9/32" tread left (good find!). the other tires I have, or have had, on the car all were 97V ratings.. so that's why I'm asking tho, thanks for the help everyone and keep me posted if you find out anything before me!
