I took my ssqv apart and don't see a way to remove the 'fin' at the end of the casing. I am planning on recirculating it but I don't see how the fitting will fit in there. How does it come out?

You took apart the wrong screws..
start at the top, and every other screw, remove, there should be 3, the case will slide out, and the fin literally pops out..
if the entire thing comes out, you removed the 3 wrong ones, just put them back in and do the others..

Maybe I don't have an ssqv, or its a knockoff or something, because what you said made no sense. there are 8 screws total, all the same length, securing the case to the rest of it. Here's a few pics:

yeah you're right, sorry it's 8 screws total, but you only remove 4 of them..
see the last pic? Slide out the insert and slide in the recirculating fitting..

SWEET, i finally got it. It was in there good. I just had to push really, really hard. Thanks for the assistance.
