I like how 1 group of people who likes to express themselfs through their car, suddenly doesnt like when another group does the same thing with a different car. Im sure the soccer moms in suvs think when they see a modified supra too.:naughty:

There's a slight difference.

40" wheels aren't a performance modification. They are DANGEROUS. You've modified the vehicle to a point where it isn't even safe at normal traffic speeds.

It's not just different strokes for different folks. Sometimes different is just different. Sometimes you are making a fucking fool out of yourself.

Most of us know the difference. What happened to you?

Is that a car anymore? Bet most people here still think its cool lol.

That's 100% bone stock. And wicked performance.

It's not a hazard to everything else on the road - Capitan ghetto cruiser up there with the 4' tall wheels is.

The extreme lifts are show cars though, just like extreme drop lowriders. They arent driving the extreme lifts on the freeway? I dont see how those cars are more dangerous than an old ford pickup lifted 4' into the air with 40" tires?

Seems like a slippery slope to judge people on this kinda stuff. I mean wheres the line at? Its ok to lift a car 2' with 20" rims but 3' and 30" rims is "retarded"?

Also, cant you consider extreme performance mods to be dangerous on the street?

For the record I think the 4' lifted car is stupid to drive, cool to look at.

you CAN'T steer, you can't accelerate, and you can't brake

not to mention the wheel has to be VERY heavy to be strong enough to take the forces because it's so large. Those clear wheels weigh something like THREE HUNDRED POUNDS APEICE. It's simple STUPID...

A truck lifted to clear 44" tires is fine if he actually uses it, as it's street legal, not to mention they don't weight NEARLY as much...

Personally, the ONLY reason to go with a larger wheel is to clear bigger brakes, as you're moving the weight mass out and it decreases performance in all regards (turning, stopping, acceleration)

it's NOT a performance mod, it's a "my dick is small so I'm going to over compensate"

Most show cars like those on 30+ inch wheels are not some fool in their moms garage throwin some sick dubs on their car.

They are people extending axles and making custom suspension setups for their cars. Read, and learn, before talking. Its actually rather interesting.

I'd want to build something like that only with a 1000rr motor

The european ones have honda engines, and you could have them turbocharged or supercharged. The american ones are using ecotecs with the same options...

They MOVE, and I'd love to have one...

Show cars? Maybe where you live. Around here (and down in FL) they drive the POS's on the street.

And yes, a truck with 40" tires is dangerous too. A "car crusher" is, by definition a hazard to the cars around it. You won't catch me defending that crowd either. (However show me something setup for Class 7 Baha and I'll have no problem with that..)

Improving the ability of a vehicle to turn, stop and accellerate out of harms way isn't dangerous. My Supra's have saved my ass on more than one occasion because they could do things the average car can't...

You just playing Devil's Advocate here? Or are yo a closet ricer? :icon_bigg
