they(both, as in 2) went in place of the upper shafts. the ball that i took out went the place that i circled and the other one went with the reverse lever in the extension housing. i'm glad i figured that out =0)
u must make sure of the location of the interlock pins if installed in the wrong order the tranny will lock up in 2 gears at once when u are done with assembly it should shift easily on the bench
