rebuild/upgrade parts

1991 7mgte full car rebuild/upgrade

sub frame bushings, where do i get them? rubber or poly?

motor mounts, where other than dealer? driftmotion has the simi-solid but mine is a daily driver so are they to stiff?

rack-n-pinion with electrical sensor shit, if it seemed fine drving before i pulled it should i throw it back in or get a new one. What brand should i pick up for a new one.

Dealer they're not expensive

I believe you can buy reman racks there a new PPS rack here from the dealer is $3700 AUD so $2900 USD at today's exchange rate.

if the rack was fine keep it....not sure on price as you have a different rack then me but mine was 250

IJ hit it right on. You said you wanted quality and that's about as quality as you can get. RonnieK's bushings are some of the best (if not the best) out there. Motor mounts you can get OEM from the dealer, and the steering rack with progressive power steering you can get from the dealer.

you can't get the rack from the dealer anymore...


i checked my local one and jeff at champion toyota. he said they were about $900 when he was able to get them. but if jeff says its not available. then its not available. he is the master of oem supra parts in the states.

i suggest you go down to napa or any parts house of your choice and get a reman from them. it will be a quarter of what the oem would be if you were even able to get it.

Jeff could get it from Japan if you really wanted one but if there are reman's available that's how I'd go, none available here as Supra's are quite rare so I'm having to rebuild my own.

i hear ya. well tbcmorris mentioned that if mine felt fine i could put it back in. are racks something you replace for preventive maintenance or only when it goes bad? you all have been a great help,thank you.
