You obviously don't get it do you ? Not trying to be offensive, but you should read up on basic aerodynamics, before you go sticking a wing on a 4,000 lb car, that is going to stick up above the roof and into turbulent air....

I myself was thinking about putting on a low-profile wing like you posted, since it's basically at the same height as the stock OEM wing, it should be doing something.

Honestly, if you're trying to go for performance enhancing equipment, the wing is probably going to be the last on the list since it's extremely hard to tell what it's actually doing without a wind tunnel or extensive testing.

Most cars one here are not on a level where they need it. Not an insult, just reality. Keep in mind that if you do install a wing that actually creates a significant amount of downforce, you need to reinforce the mounting points on the trunk, or the wing will just crush the trunk. Belive me Ive seen an integra with a rediculously unnecessary spoiler that was crushed a good 3 inches into the trunk's sheet metal.

I have a degree in motorsport and powertrain engineering and have a good grasp of aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics and CFD so please explain your reasoning behind your arguement. Those high wings were banned because the struts kept failing, i'm not saying they are safe just saying that theoritically that is where they are most effective which is what the OP asked.

How does vehicle weight have any impact on wing hieght? Wing size yes but not wing hieght!

thats what i thought
i also read on here that the hatch design allowed for a lower profile wing to be effective
im trying to find a chart that actually shows where the turbulent air is in relation to the rear end of the supra

so does anyone know what the effective wing height for our cars is

the wing that i was given is 16 inches high
thats measuring from the bottom of the bracket to the tallest part of the wing
the mounting pillars measure in at 9.5 inches

I think that you should focus more on suspension then a wing. Build up that suspension to handle hard corning and excessive oversteer. When you achieve enough and oversteer becomes much an issue, then you can focus on selecting a proper wing.

Hey taka21, i think that wing will be fine for what you are after. It will definatly have some effect and after all your not chasing every tenth of a second. You could always attach some bits of string across the wing, then drive it along and set up a camera to record the results to see how air is moving across the wing. Then post your result obviously:icon_bigg. Dats how they used to do it in the good ole days before wind tunnels.

hey i had one other question but i didn't want to start another thread because its regarding this wing

to mount this wing it needs the four small brackets around each corner of the stands
i only have two
does anyone know where i might be able to find some of these brackets or maybe how to make a set
