Is it possible that oil filled shocks were available for these cars in the past? just over the past 2 days the rear right hand side shocker has worn out completely. If i bounce the corner it bounces 3 - 4 times.

And i noticed today that theres a load of oil coming it seems from the shocker. Its soaked and so is the drive shaft and all the various other components down there.

I already have replacement kyb shocks here ready to get fitted

Gas shocks are oil filled shocks that have been pressurized with gas to keep down the cavitation of the oil. They are mainly filled with oil.

ahh right, that would explain the amount of oil then. the shock is completely cacked with some sort of black stuff that looks real wet lol. well there getting done tomorrow.

I would do them myself but ive got an inguinal hernia that is giving me grief big style and id rather not be trying to loosen bolts that have been tight for possibly 20 years. they look so easy to remove after reading the tsrm. but probably ill be in a good deal of pain afterwards.

Anyway a local garage said itd be £50 to fit them for me. Probably thats roughly $100
