well, I think it shit the bed.

went out for a little cruise last night, an I was going down a 2 lane road prolly at about 45-50 mph, when going through a grren light 4-way, it felt like the car came out of gear an the wheels locked up since i heard me sqealing to a stop right in the middle of the intersection .

it was hard to move , felt all this grinding all over the onderside.
couldnt pin point it at first.
Lucky I was able to nurse it off the road an into a parking lot.

a friend came up, an we called AAA.
to truck couldnt lift it cos of how low the car sat so here came the flat bed.
, I was going to have to sign the waiver incase he screwed something up. but then nursing it in the parking lot, we thought maybe I could creep it home , while the flat bed followed me home, tried that,

got about halfway only going less that 20 mph , when about 3-4 times the rear wheels would tri an lock up, ... the grinding was so bad all over ,.,.. finaly it was so bad, I had to stop,..... so
it was last night, so just guessing, we think its the rear end...

dont know though...

that baby is toast... shitty eh? oh well, time to change to waht you want if u didnt already have what u wanted.

rear ends usually go for about $300 on here. u seem to be on the east coast. i think there is quite a few "philly supra" guys on here that could maybe hook u up with some parts.

good luck with your little ordeal..

Those three things pretty much. Or, if the rear end you have is rebuildable (doubt it from what you've described) then you can have a fresh one again. The quickest thing to do is to get another rear end from a turbo supra or a sport model NA, take out the broken one, and put the other one in...

any of you guys know where to find those things caled skates ?
the flat bed driver uses them, its like a wedge the put on / under your bumper so when the chain pulls you on the flat bed , your bumper doesnt get caught on the flat bed an rips off the bummper
, been looking on ebay...

Just ask for a truck equiped with a wheel lift. they pick the car up from the back wheels and is best for lowered cars like Supras. hth.

It's not too hard to swap if you're swapping the entire housing. IIRC, there are 6 screws holding the diff in place then four bolts on each axle and four bolts on the DS. Unbolt the axles and DS then unbolt the diff as you lower the diff housing the axles and DS may come right off, but I had to use a large screwdriver.

Use a jack to support the diff.

You could gear it lower (the N/A LSD and open diffs are 4.30 for example) keep in mind that you're going to see higher RPMs for a given speed.... hence a mileage hit.
