I was wondering if i took my rear strut rods off could i still drive her?i'm asking this question do to i want my rear cambers to be noticeable by site.I like seeing cambers on rear wheel drive sport cars when the top of the wheel is caved in and the bottom of the wheel is sticking out like 1987 300z's.no what i mean.I know this type of rear suspension set up is for performance cornering.pleas sombody tell me i can still drive my 7mge without the strut rods.

Thats very silly... I dont have an answer to your question, but you are going to tear through the inside edge of your tires very quickly if you do the negative camber just for "the look":aigo:

BTW why would you remove the strut rods? They have nothing to do with camber... And i believe they call it a trailing arm or tension rod in the rear.

the strut rods are preventing me from adjusting my cambers.I just wanted to adjust them only by 4or6degrees,thats all.I don't want to change the setting to much towards where i would damage the tires.

[strike]Just remove the bushings from the upper A arms. I'm pretty sure that would do it.... until you turn of course. ;)

Generally, removing suspension components for the sake of looks is really only something you want to do if the car is not being driven. So if you want it to look bad ass while it's down from a BHG, then just prop it on blocks and pull the upper A arms. Otherwise, you're probably better off forgetting it. If you must the settle and adjust the camber as far as the stock hardware will allow.[/strike]

You could look into adjustable replacement arms. I think A1 makes a set... IIRC, that's the name. HPF sells them.

so removing the bushings i will not be able to drive at all,and if i do take a corner what will happen.Let me guess,my tire will fall off.l.m.a.o

if you look at the adjusting bolts... you know the things with the big ass washer on them that turn and move the control arms in and out.... If you take the bolts out... drop BOTH lower control arms.. the rear one and the middle one... there are 3 on each side... leave the one in front alone....

but anyway drop both the control arms.. take a hammer and bend the tabs that the washers hit...flaten them flat... the ONES closeset to center of car..

then you see the longated slot the bolts went threw... get a grinder like a drimel and make them about 3/16 1/4 longer gling towards the CENTER of car... replace all the stuff and you can now pull the bottom of the tires IN and the TOP will go out... NOW to fix your tire rub that will happen if car is lowered.. take a base ball bat.... stick it behind tire and fenderwell and drive fwd... this will roll the lip under and if you stick large end of bat between there it will acually flare the whole fender out...

Now imho you should have someone help you... as the question you asked ... well NEVER take shit off suspension... you gona kill someone.. you want to kill yourself.. get a gun... but dont be takin shit off your car that can cause you to WRECK...

Smartest thing you've said in this thread yet...

No, you can't remove the strut rods, and still drive the car. :3d_frown:

the method i sujested would not hurt the car in anyway... FOR those that have a camber issue after lowering car.. and there is ALWAYS a camber issue to deal with when you do lowere our cars... and best of all... its free.. if you can do yourself... beats hell out of buy new tires every few thousand miles...

or you can go nuts like i did :}
