My car never did this before up until I put on my Bomex sides from shine on. The only thing that I can think that it could be is the front piece that I took off where the mud flap is to put on the sides. Should I of taken the whole piece off or just cut off the mud flap. Or is it something else?

I have real Bomex sides, and there's 1 bolt on each end and 4 or so rivet holes inside where the door goes, is your sideskirt the same..?

yes, you should remove the mudflap, but you should also make sure your fenderwell isn't hitting anything..

if they're flapping in the wind, make sure you fit it properly, and if there's still a gap, depending on the size, you can use double-sided tape..

Yes they have the same mounting holes and fit pretty good. I don't believe that there moving at all, but that piece that I'm talking about originally I just removed the whole thing cause people said that you have to remove the mud flaps to get them to fit. However the mud flap is built right in with that piece. My thought is when I removed it the air is now flowing into the opening and causing the whole car to vibrate.

Well actually that makes since cause it does it worse when slowing down from sixty vs. speeding up.

No it doesn't...

I'm betting you have a more serious issue becides a body kit.....inspect your shocks and drivetrain asap!

A question here should be does this vibration just make noise or actually shake the car.

Mine shook the car, and was my the 4 bolts in the center section of the DS had basically (magically I still think, as toyota was the last guys to touch them at the factory) had become hand tight. Check them and the ones at the end of the drive shaft going into the diff.

That sounds like a much stronger vibration then mine. However the vibration seems to vibrate the entire car, door, back window, through the floor, steering wheel a little. I will have to take a look when I pick my car up. When I first heard this noise it was when I was on my way to drop it off to get painted.

flapping fiberglass does not shake the car. depending on how bad the carrier bearing actually is depends on how bad it will shake the car.

believe it or not when i was younger my first car/mk3 had a carrier bearing that was soo bad the was about an in. of missing rubber and it actually didnt make any noise. i went to the junkyard and found a diff and swapped that with the carrier bearing which had some play but thought that it would be better than what i had. no it was 10x worse and ended up buying a new one which is on my other car now.

Well I realize that fiber glass isn't going to cause that kind of vibration. Plus its mounted pretty good so I knows its not moving. What I was saying at first was that I thought that the mud flap that you take off on the front to install the sides could be allowing air to get in that way and causing the vibration. Just a thought.
