sorry

those "recaros" suck for long hauls. The stock seats are damn great even when perched behind the wheel for 16 hours straight ;)
I did 18 straight in the stock seats and they are awesome, no cramping or fatigue from being uncomfortable. That being said I bought racing seats, mainly because I want to autocross and track the car and I was getting tossed around too much with the stockers. Racing seats are not as comfortable unless you are slender. I feel like I'm glued into my new seats but thats just sitting in them not driving. I don't imagine they'll be as comfortable on longer trips as they are harder and not so lazyboyish...

i just dont buy the arguement of its heavy so its lame to try and make it lighter.
i am not going to try and convince someone they need/should buy lightweight seats. but at the same time im not going to discount someone's efforts to lighten up the car.
it all comes down to what you want to do with the car and what you are willing to compromise.

Absolutely, the stock seats are great for all around driving.

I have those in the RHD 1Jay Supra. They are also uncomfortable.

Although I'm losing weight (I was 250 pounds last year, 240 on Feb 1st, and today, almost 2 months later, 219... amazing what good eating habits and daily excercise can do), I remember in an Integra I used to own, which had those Recaro seats.... damn, my WIDE BUTT didn't feel very comfortable in there. Hehe.

I think my 88 has stock cloth seats. Mine shows some wear. Still not cracked, although it's kinda opening up in one of the places it's "attached". (Sorry for my english). Plus, the seat will ONLY move forward! It seems a cable got broken and it wont move back. Now my knee hurts for being too in front. Hah, gotta take care of this soon. However, what pisses me off the most, is the fact that it reclines backwards on itself. Yes, it slowly goes back. I don't like driving in a possition that's comfortable enough to sleep in. It's not quick, it might take a couple of days, but every once in a while (every few days) I gotta turn that little wheel on the side to bring it back more "upwards"...

So, all of those things combined, have led me to believe that some racing seats might not be a bad option. (Yes, also even keeping the weight in mind, lol).

But I dont wanna suffer like I did with my teggie's Recaro's.

No one mentioned using stock seats from other cars. I was planning on looking through the junkyard for some seats that are comparable comfort wise and weigh less to replace my damaged ones.

What cars did you have in mind, miekedmr?

Personally for a dd I'd say stick with stock...although the bucket seats out of a Toyota Previa would be l33t. I remember sitting comfortably in those seats for 8 hours at a time on a trip from Atlanta to Albuquerque--amazing comfort no matter your size or shape.

Heck, the whole thing was pretty sweet, for a van--2.4L mid-engine RWD (optional AWD and a Supercharged engine) and PLENTY of room for a family of 5 and all their stuff. Even it's jelly-bean shape at the time (1992) was very anti-minivan. Moto-P's Previa with RHB6 turbo in it with 18psi boost @ 255hp

But I digress...

Have seats that YOU want, seats that fit YOUR needs. I'm 6'6" 235 and I love what the stock seats do for me. I think they're perfect for a sporty dd.

^I was driving my wife's RSX Type S and was thinking how nice the seats were...leather and well bolstered for that spirited driving. I think I'm gonna jack them from her...or just buy a used set. They are hella nice and comfortable though.
