damn i thought you were gonna show us "your" relocated coilpacks lol

Sorry about that! I should have titled it different. I have Duanes(Upgraded Supra) old upper fenderwell-to-throttle-body stainless pipe,:icon_bigg and it cuts across the top left corner of the coil pack. My neighbor suggested what I've heard others have done, directly behind valve covers, on the firewall, reversing the plug wires. Haven't tried that yet, but eye-ballin' the wires looks like they're not long enough to do that.:aigo:

there's a company here called Eagle that do wires for the 7m, and they're massively too long... get a set of them lol
i had them on mine at one stage but i had to loop them at the end, i ended up getting rid of them and putting stock back on hehe

cjsupra90 has his mounted on the firewall using a shelf like mount. It's a very, very nice set up. I've tried to convince him to market them.....

You're right about the spark plug wires, they're too short. IIRC, Chris used N/A spark plug wires in order to put the coil pack on the fire wall.

Maybe he'll chime in & post some pictures.

Reversing the plug wires works fine but I had to get a different throttle cable since the coil pack now sits where the old linkage used to go cleans up the engine bay a bit

Looks good ;)

I don't see why the wires wouldn't work with that set-up. Since the coil pack is at the other end of the motor you can just swap the wires the other way around? :icon_bigg

I relocated mine. The stock location sucks. I extended the harness and moved them by the firewall.

Could you post a photo of them please? Did you have to modify your throttle cable also?

yes, I have them mounted on the firewall. Below are a few pictures that I just went out and took. rakkasan is correct, i got a set of N/A wires and removed the coil ends from a set of GTE wires, cut the N/A wires to length and attached the GTE ends. Also if you did it, you would have to lengthen the harness to reach. I am using a complete standalone system so I had to make the harness from scrach.

Thanks guys.

bcg04, actually the car is kinda technically a N/A. I bought the car as an N/A-T car that had a messed up motor cause the guy didn't know what he was doing to begin with. so the N/A valve covers were already there.

One other note that I just remembered is that I had to modify the throttle cable bracket as it was interfering with the coil connector on the first coil. I am not sure if this is a problem GTE cars as my cable bracket and intake/throttle body are N/A

I will be most likely selling the coil bracket in the very near future as it will be no longer usfull to me when I complete my 1UZ V8 swap.

I like that mounting bracket. You should make some more of them. Or if you don't want to make a lot of them, just make one for me. Shoot me an estimate.

Here's my extended harness before I completely wrapped it.

Here's the pack moved to the back.

Since it's already been resurrected, I'll add that Tom has already relocated his coilpacks to the firewall, and it looks great! Cleans up the bay a lot!
