WHIP THE PISS OUT OF THEM

Im going to be putting my motor back together in the next couple days. I spun 2 rod bearings. Ive got a new to me good condition crank, rods and pistons along with ACL bearings. Its not so much the actually assembly Im worried about.

My question is, how do I clean my head to be sure that ive got all the old, metal infested oil? Im also thinking I should be sure to clean out the oil pump. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance

would a used pump do the trick? I mean of course a good condition used oil pump, without metal shavings in it.

dang, not checking my oil between runs has turned out to be a very costly mistake:3d_frown:

the guy at the machine shop told me that he can pull mine apart, clean it, and rebuild it. He said he wouldnt even charge me for it becasue hes doing so much eles with the motor already. I dont see why the a rebuilt one wouldnt do the trick. Im think im going with that unless someone opens my eyes as to why I shouldnt.

I put an new one in mine for peace of mind, there not that much anyways.

I would be worried about the pump being damaged from all the metal going though it.

Again if you get it redone and are comfortable with that then do it. I went for the new as there was no questions down the road that way.

You lose the oil out the turbo?
