That's why i was wondering about this whole fuel thing too. A friend of mine had a supra with lexafm/550's on a stockpump too. Plus he ran a upgraded ct26 and he ran it hard. But he never had any problems with it. Not with the rich/lean thing that is... the rest of the engine just fell apart piece by piece :D

You all seem to be under the impression the stock pump can't flow?

Just to put my .02 cents in.

I run RC550's/Lex for approx. 1 1/2 years with no problems, not even problems @ idle with between 16-18 psi on the stock fuel pump and stock afpr.

When I dynoed @ 278HP and 337 TQ @ 16 lbs my A/F ratio was less than 10:1

You tell me if the stock pump can handle it?

Ofcouse it is possible.
You can also use your old 440cc injectors with the lex afm. Even that is very well possible.

The real question here is do you really want to rely on older stuff in something as important as your fuel delivery?

It's the same as the 440 injector example above, would you want to be pushing a 16 year old fuel pump which never had to deliver more than about 70% of it's duty cycle to its maximum?

You can guess what happens when it fails. And it's more probable that the old pump will fail than the new one.

At least, this is how I see it. :)

440's and the lexafm will kill the engine. period. The pump is ordered already. But will i need something else in fuel management ? I don't like the afpr options as far as tuning a/f's. It's possible but not ideal.

So basically the q remains the same. If i were to install 550's with a lex afm and a SP61GT with a bigger (walbro) pump, would i need anything else to get it running properly ?

The only way you would want to re-use your old 440CC injectors w/ a Lex AFM is if you got them flowed/blueprinted... But then yes, the stock injectors can handle it; and one good example is John Lunsford.

I have been running 12V mod on the stock pump for approx. 1 year with no ill effects.

However, I have a walbro I have been waiting to put in until I get the garage space needed to do the rest of my mods..And the walbro is rather cheap; 100 or so....
