hell all my daughter is getting for her 16th (year and a half away..oh crap waaayyy too soon) is the mk2 i gave her to fix up at christmas last year

and by fix up...she gets dirty, and earns mostof the money for it

i figgure if she earns the $ and puts in the wrench time, the car will tend to run the speed limit, stop at stop signs,not do stupid shit, ect, ect

...actually the wife and i have discussed dending her one of those performance driving schools it all depends on her attitudr at the time

MTV proves it with every "Sweet 16" show, over and over and over again.

Lucky thing is someone who spends 300,000 on a birthday party is going to support the local economy pretty well. (Somebody sold that car, or cater'd the party etc.)

Look at weddings. There are seriously tens of thousands of people getting married every month who spend 10, 20 or even 30,000.00 or more on the wedding. (More if you can imagine that, but I'm talking this 10k figure is not so out of line for many "average" households when the kids get married.)

I eloped, and was very up front about the parents just paying us the 10k.. LOL Never happened. (Key is get the money first, then elope, not the other way around... LOL)

I have two daughters, and I hope to hell they both don't have this wedding sickness I'm seeing my buddies deal with as their kids grow up and get married. It's bad enough I have to buy presents for their kids, but I dread the day I have to pay the bill on one of these shindigs myself.

Fuck that show and Fuck MTV. MTV plays so few music videos, but instead comes out with fucking morons who inflict pain to themselves and others for amusement (bams show and jackass) and horrible reality shows that arent close to reality(everything they came out with) and horrible dating shows.

i absolutely love to admit that i do not watch TV on my own time (shocking coming from a 19 yr old). i dont go to the movies. i feel that it is a waste of time for me to sit at home and watch a football game, or a horrible show (other than boston legal which is FTMFW). ill watch tv if im out with friends, or at someones house/dorm. the quality on all tv is horrible, and is ruining our society. how many people do you know that are like those in the "reality" shows like the OC? i do not know, and do not want to know rich snoby assholes that complain about everything that does not go their way.
