I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that poodles are smart. My family has always had standard poodles though.

A pregnant goldfish is called a twit.

That was posted on a short list of useless info in the women's bathroom at Winghouse, LOL. I don't remember the rest, but I always thought that was the best on there, anyway.

Reading your post, it seemed you were saying that sweating was abnormal. none of our horses have anhydrosis (learn a new word every day), woohoo :) mine sure as HELL doesn't; he covers me with his own sweat every time I ride.

Equestrian sports is the only sport where men and women compete on the same level.

In the Middle Ages, horses carried up to 900 lbs of weight! This includes the rider and armour, saddle, bridle, and the horse's armour.

The British had 300 thousand horses in the first two years of WWI

Shetland ponies used by the British in trench warfare in World War I weighed 600 lbs, yet carried 400 lbs

Motorola no longer produces what made them profitable... the car radio.

Before that, the interfearance from the ignition system would make a radio useless.

The first steam engine?

You'd be wrong if you answered James Watts.

You'd still be wrong if you answered Thomas Savery.

The worlds first steam engine was built by Hero (or Heron) of Alexandria.

It was never recognized though, as a useful engine or tool until hundreds of years later.

Yep, it's a ball with a steam jet out of the side, pretty neat stuff too.

Did you know cataract surgery has been done successfully since Roman times? Did you know their surgical tools are nearly identicle to our modern ones?

What about the very accurate water clocks they had back in Roman times as well?

Did you know that the Roman concrete would cure underwater? The recipe was also lost and only rediscovered recently. This is why medival castles where build of stone and not concrete, as they didn't know how to make it)

There is another one about a special alloy that the Japanese or Chinese used, and we haven't been able to make it until recently as their ovens where so advanced they could reach those temps.
