all those people in that small dyno room had bad news written all over it

My friend Arthur runs DynoLab in Marietta, GA. (shameless plug) He's been in business since 98 and has never had a "dyno accident". He's the one that taught me to run a dyno, I've spent hundreds of hours operating his, have run some huge events on one (example: The F-Body Gathering) and I've never had an accident either.

Most people don't respect the danger of a having a car spinning it's tires at 100+ mph, all those moving parts and a 4,000 lb drum spinning at that speed.

A dyno is not a toy.

I come from a land down under
Always worries me having people stand in front of the car during a pull...

One of the operators I know told me a story of a coolant hose blowing during a pull and scalding the owner that was leaning into the bay..

I remember watching this guy with my dad back in the 80's. My dad would put this on and I'd go "Why the hell are we watching this?!?!" He'd say "I just want to see if this idiot blows a gasket on TV tonight."

After a while we would place bets on whether or not he'd have a speed & steroid induced aneurysm on TV that night. We were very disappointed when they took him off the air.

Here, in all of his glory, the Ultimate Warrior (Get through his first rant and then listen to the comments - it's fucking hilarious):

Everytime I see this guy I actually laugh out loud...
