ok i have replaced my valve seals has brand new turbo with 600 miles on it motor has good compression. it stopped smoking for a few weeks now randomly smokes when a come two a stop and it very randomly happens 2 or 3 times a day or not at all then it will the next day smoke is white any ideas on what it coulde be

How is the coolant and coolant level in expansion tank?

I had that problem.. but it was because the valve stem seals weren't pressed on correctly and were riding the valve stems. But you will have fouled plugs if thats the issue...

I had this happening as well. I replaced the valve stem seals, and it still happened. I also had a test pipe, and it was more noticeable. So then, I put the stock cat back on, and it was still there. I checked coolant level, and checked out good. I the. Checked the oil, I was burning oil somehow. I also had found out that I had bhg. I replaced that, then a few weeks later, seized bearing!
All I'm saying to you, is be aware. Make sure you've checked everything. Though I checked everything, I could say I was to late. This even happened to a 124k mileage motor. Would've never thought it would happen to me at this low of mileage.

my motor is at 147 miles had hks head gasket got put on about maybe 3000 miles ago with arp stubs coulde it really happen that sooon
Also, you have a new turbo but it may have a leaking seal, or you could have a lot of oil build up in the intercooler.. there are a few other reasons other than the headgasket. The quickest way to check the headgasket is a CO2 test (the kit is about 80.00 I think and is reusable... )
ok I do rember seeng some oil in the pipe on the bottom of the turbo coulde it b whats left from the old vavle seals goig bad
When I went to deal with my "random smoking" engine, the amount of oil that came out of the turbo made me believe that the turbo was shot. Sooo... I bought an upgraded one. When the original turbo was pulled, oil poured out of it.. but there was also oil pouring out of the exhaust manifold... which told us the turbo was okay (along with an inspection of the turbo)... something else was wrong. (long story short.. after pulling the head and finally the engine, I have a fully rebuild engine now... )
Mine was a different story than yours, but I was surprised by the amount of oil that was passing through the combustion chamber...
If your valve stems were leaking bad enough, you could have oil in your intercooler I believe.. someone could confirm that.

I had a hole in a piston the size of a large pea that filled my intercooler with over a quart.... So I believe that valves could do it also

ok toom off my piping ware my BOV is and there is traces and lil puddles of oil in the piping what should i look next
Do a exhaust gas check at your radiator.... Cost like 20 bucks I think and you can usually buy one at local parts stores I know Napa around here carries them.... It's a blue liquid and what looks like a turkey baster lol its called a "block tester"

thANKS GOOD INFO im going to do that test tommrow but what I noticed about the oil in the piping was it looked like the old oil in the motor before I did the valve seals I did a good oil motor flush and the oil n the car is gold not old black stuff that was in the piping and also I stuck my finger in the bottom off the turbo not really any in there and the oil was only after the intercooler going to throttle body so on that note I cleaned all piping and the intercooler very well so coulde it be old oil in the interooler from the bad valve seals?
Very possible... I poured at least a quart and a half out of my intercooler after my piston issue

hopefully that's what it is ill do the HG test tommrow fingers crossed its not blown also is maft pro good to go with when I do my lexus maf and injectors
ok so got it all back together no smoke yet awsome but now iv had this lil timing problem i do the right stepps start the car do the lil jump wiring thing and my timing is lie 20 before wtf then i set it to 10 ware its supose to be and it takes all the adjustment it has to get it to 10 then and on 10 it doesnt run as well as it does on 20 it runns better but i still dont have the power it shoulde
