random oil leak

yea, sounds like cam seals, and you don't have to take the valve covers off to replace them.

Also, to remove the cam gears, I didn't use an sst, I just had someone hold a screwdriver inside one of the cam sprocket spokes (there are two bolts behind each cam sprocket) and use the tension between the spoke and the bolt, and it worked fine... Just a thought...

yea i saw where someone had used a 10 mm socket on those bolts, i ended up using that approach and it worked fine for me.. now i've got big troubles.. i'm an idiot and dropped a screw into the lower timing belt cover. Doh'

the exhaust cam seal popped right out, and thats definately where it was leaking from, but how in the hell am i supposed to get out the intake cam seal?

Go down to Autozone or Orly?s and get yourself a pick set. They're cheap as hell and work great.

Either that or heat up the end of a smaller flathead screwdriver and bend it into a hook. Let cool of course, then reach in and pull that seal out.

yea, I want to just take the cap off, but its not leaking right now and thats just one more thing for me to screw up. I'll try any little tricks to get it out.
