My supra has been running fine for awhile now. Starts good, runs smooth, idles fine, and its my DD. i drove it to class this morning no issues. when i went to start it to leave, the car just cranks and doesnt even sound like it wants to start. Im stuck here at school with only a small amount of tools and i dont know where to start.

i know im not getting either air/fuel/spark. my first guess would be fuel or spark.

but im confused how it ran fine all this time and then all the sudden bam. it doesnt start.

everything is stock except for mhg and arp headstuds

Your gas gauge is 20 years old. Is it accurate? Silly first thought.

Also could be the fuel pump. Go to the diagnostic block next to your engine fuse panel. Put a jumper wire (paper clip) between Fp and +B. You should hear your fuel pump begin to work. Could also be the EFI fuse in the engine fuse box. I believe it's a 15 amp, but your fuse panel lid will tell you. Warning, pulling this fuse will reset your ECU. So if it does fix the problem, your car will need to relearn idle.

i thought about the gas gauge not working but it has always worked and is higher now than it was a few days ago so i doubt it. plus it didnt act like it was running out of fuel on the way this morning.

i will hotwire the fp and see what that does. thanks

yay for paperclips from the library.

fuel pump works fine and i can hear fuel running through the lines in the engine bay so im almost certain it is getting fuel.... so its probably not getting spark.

so what could happen from when i shut my car off until when i tried to start it again that would prevent it from getting any spark at all in all of the cylinders?

If your check engine light is not coming on when you turn your igniting on then your EFI fuse is blown or your not getting power to the ECU. Also check your CPS, Coilpack, Ignitor connectors.

The cps wires are on the front of the head, on the exhaust side. Its [the cps] the lil round looking thing that goes into your head.

^^^ It sure is...the CPS wires get brittle from the exhaust manifold heat, usually crack at the connector.
