Radar detector question

Are U Here 2 take My Baby
Ronald-I didnt run them at the same time. I placed the radars in the exact same place and there was no rear obstruction for either. They had clear line of site :) I had my x-50 in the car for 2 years before trying my dads v-1 and first time out i noticed how strong the rear radar was on the v-1.

Also i prefer the x-50's multi signal display over the v-1's. It may not tell me where the signal comes from but ive noticed the vehicle enforcement cars like to hit you with a lite xband then a instant on k or ka signal immediatly afterward. On my old bel 920 it would go haywire when used this method and it would miss xband and catch the k or ka, but by this time it was too late to slow down they already have you. But not with the x-50

I have had "service required" or "calibrate" on my unit but its usually nothing more than a quick unplug and plug it back up and it works like a charm afterward. Its happened maybe 5 or 6 times in the 2 years ive had it.

it depends actually :)

because if we can detect the radar gun "signature" that means there is an officer with a radio to his home station in his car. Put those two together and there is ZERO doubt that it is a LE. One without the other might be an LE but not on "patrol". Hell a 1mile radius is more than enough resolution on the ground for this. More than enough ample time to slow down from the fastest speeds and not get caught ;)

I've always thought it odd that no detectors scan for the radio frequency LE uses. Granted, I'd wager that different districts will be using different Fq, but it'd be a nice programmable feature. Around here, they all are using that cellular wireless internet (that is slow as HELL btw) - that'd be another source to detect LE vs falsie.

Ian, if LE pulls out a missile launcher on me, I honestly don't want to know about it. I'm not going to evade a missile in 2 dimensions.

I come from a land down under
So the directional arrows are nothing more than a gimmack ;)

You get an alert you slow to the speed limit end of threat.

If you're smart you don't resume speed until you're sure it's clear.
