You can call BS all you want, what reason do I have to fabricate such a story? I cant speak for ALL Camaros but this particular one I raced about 10 times in all, about 5 times non turbo, and 5 times after the turbo swap, with an open downpipe. The LS1 is a powerful motor, but every Camaro I have ever been in has been pretty slow, especially when they are automatics.

a stock 5.0 and a stock turbo supra is completely dependant on drivers. stock camero's are a bit faster, but still not all that fast. The ls1 is a great motor but intake and full exhaust with 11-12 psi should even it up at least. v6 camero = mid/high 16 in the quarter. Real sports car eh?

As a n/a guy, im going to say you will lose.Just dont feel discuraged when you start getting pulled. Keep a good attitude about, and if you boss is a nice guy he might even say you hung pretty well considering its a 3 litre naturally aspirated motor.I remember being new to my supra, sure does feel fast but when you put it next to something else, you get a reality check real fast.Goodluck and besafe

If he jumps out on you give him the "PIT" manuver and spin that bitch out!! Now coast to victory. Rubbin is racing. Thats the only chance you have with a NA, NA's are slow as fuck :evil2:

Anyways, Sorry. When I think of someone speaking of Camaro's, I instantly assume they are talking about 93+. Any of the Camaro's prior to that (aside from "old school" Muscle Camaro), they are all juuuuunk. :nono:

no love for the 3rd gen camaro?

Hmm. May I ask what you have done to your N/A? Either these 5.0's, Camaro's & Vettes were complete junk or you have some serious power pushing through those 6 cylinders.
Jeff

Before I bought the supra frim my older brother there was a BHG that needed to get fixed. I still didnt know much about the supras at that point and my older bro decided to just replace the engine with another NA, but install new seals. We also got a newer tranny installed to. A mechanic that i knew back then did the work, and told me that he'd boost up the power a bit. I did think much of it cause i was wondering the same thing as you, HOW? When I got the car back i took it for a test drive with him. HOLY SHIT, the car is goin with 3/4 throttle in a straight line and it shifts into secon and squeels the rear tires almost throwing the rear end out. I asked how or what, and his response was dont worry about it just have fun. The car had been running mint for 3 years now, but i cant find the guy to find out what he did. I think he went back to Greece

Sorry I haven't been back. My challange to my boss was as much to get his car out of the garage as to find out what my car could do. Last year he only put a handfull of miles on his car. I tried goading him out because I know he likes to drive his car and he normally needs a reason. That and it will give me some insparation to better my own car. I don't expect to beat him but I want to give him a run for what he's got. Maybe start something in the office that I work in 'cause alot of guys talk but they won't put up. I like the idea and before next season starts hope to get 5-7 of the guys out on a regular basis. This might just be the fuel. And by then I will have mine back to where it needs to be and then some. If I can get my boss out this year yet I will definatly get the slips posted.

i'd say maybe he'd suck at shifting because he doesnt drive it much and you have a chance...but he's an automatic. otherwise i have no idea.

I've forgone the thought of racing him entirely now. He is in the process of tearing it down to install a 380 horse crate motor. I still tell him that it is a complete waste and that he should just give me the money that he is throwing away to put into a car that gets driven. I'll still post timeslips if I can get to the track before the snow flies.

some people are like that. it sucks. it's like an old granny owning a fast car. it hurts to watch some granny in a fast car never drive it faster than a mercury. but what do i know...maybe they race on the weekends....

but yeah money better spent somewhere else IMO. but maybe he'll start using it more eh?
