More bumper fabrication results: photo 2 (6).jpgphoto 3 (3).jpgphoto 5 (3).jpg
We decided that as the Supra is to become a Track Supra, we'd drop the bumper foam.
The bottom bumper bar supports the splitter and the undercover.
Both the front & rear bumper bars are TIG welded.
Weight for front bumper bar is 19 lbs. vs 33 lbs for stock. New bumper cover weighs 12 lbs vs 20 lbs for stock

Eric,
Your right... They will be fabbing up brackets to hang the bumper cover, under cover, splitter, plus stock grill parts this week. I hope to have more pics of the finished product. The bumper will be removable within a few minutes with the final design implemented. Two chasse bolts, five Dzus quick release fasteners and two splitter bolts removed will allow the entire bumper with bumper cover and splitter to come off as a unit. Of course the splitter is removable from the bumper, so that it too may be replaced separately from the bumper cover, when damaged.

As can be seen from these pictures, a little rust. That will be dealt with before Wryann fabricates and welds on a mounting plate. Onto that will be bolted the rear wing brackets. They will look similar to these when it's done:brackets for rear wing.jpg
New cost estimate for the project construction is now just north of $3700

... I'm the one driving up the costs!

I was just reflecting on the total cost of this build; added to the base price of the Turbo Supra, the new Supra will cost ~$47,000, roughly what the MkIV cost new.

hey van, any new word yet?
I just got the BIC DDP ceramic coated and the turbo rebuild is on its way back from Albert. I'll be delivering the DDP on Thursday and paying on the work already done. I'll take a few pictures and post them here on Thur or Fri.

More gradual progress pics:WP_000339.jpgWP_000340.jpgWP_000341.jpg
In the first two are the plates the wing supports are mounted to. The third is just a pic of the quality of the hood from Carbon Creations.
