Finally the R154 with 170k miles, decided its not going to work any more. After the 1/4 mile drags down in mission raceways during the PAC NW meet she started doing some wierd stuff. Car ran well there and put down a 12.9 at 105mph with a 1.6sec 60 foot :naughty:

Anyways the micky thompson et streets must have done a number on it im guessing. Tranny started popping out of 1st gear sometimes, then more and more often. Now it will barely go into gear with out grinding. So out she comes. As anyone used all the new marlin crawler R series tranny upgrades and which ones are a must to install? Just trying to save a little cash here on something that doesnt "have" to be done but still wont fail with 500whp.

I rebuilt my r-154 And you might as well go all out. Your transmission isnt something you want to be cheap on. I put the mc thrust washer, shift fork, bearing retainer. Then i bought DM r-154 rebuild kit put all new bearings in, syncros ect. And this thing shift way better. I have yet to miss a gear. But the real test will be the MT streets. I have already went through 2 stock r-154 because of that. But im pretty confident that this transmission will hold up.
