Putting it in another gear just wastes the time (instead of waiting), and you may spin the gear enough to get it to sync up (long shot).

I'm NOT talking aobut letting the clutch out while trying for reverse, I said put it in neutral and then try again (this gets the gears spinning again).

Seriously, it's an old hotrod "trick" that needs to die since it's not founded in anything... Much like thicker oil stops leaks...

Yeah no big deal ill try a few different things and see how it works. I usually dont have too much of a problem with it.

Well, from what I recall it works for me most if not all of the time. I could be mistaken... i haven't driven my car for over a month and a half besides scooting it from one place to the next in my yard....

I usually go into second then reverse on all standard cars I've ever driven. Dunno if I even have to with my Supra, it's an old habit from my Celica and it works pretty much every time for me. Sometimes I'll have trouble, go back to neutral, clutch out, clutch in, retry and that usually works too. I don't have any trouble getting it into first or reverse (or any other gear for that matter) in my car (R154, 165k miles Redline MT90).

Yes, it will work fine, but you need the R154 flywheel, clutch assembly, slave cylinder, ect ect ect...

Why would you use the R154 when the W58 is cheaper for the power levels that an N/A motor will put out?

so i read through this and didnt get a straigh answer of wether the r154 works w/ an N/A motor,

Don't waste your money on an r154. Period.

...Unless you plan on making more than 350 hp. Which will NEVER happen on a non-turboed, non-nitroused N/A. Use a w58.
