can anyone tell me iyo which trans would be the best for my 89 MKIII T. is auto for now but want to swap to 5 speed. and not really sure what the difference is between the 2, or if there is any.

W shifts nicer but is a little fragile behind a boosted motor

i had a friend find one for 250 that is a rebuilt unit, shift's nicer then the unit i paid 380 on and put a rebuild kit into,
i have seen r154's sale as high as 450 before shipping, i would assume higher for a 1jz or soaror r154 (different extension housing)

You mean '1JZ Soarer' , not '1JZ or Soarer'pimptrizkit;916650 said:
Yes, the Soarer 1JZ tranny has a different shifter position, but a Supra 1JZ tranny is the same.
