it is on the passenger side. I couldn't find the fill plug so I just poured it in through the shifter. Also, I used a 24mm but I heard that it might be a 23mm. Does the 23mm work better? My 24 wasnt a perfect fit.

I'd try using the great old PB Blaster. Also, the fill plug is on the drivers side. It is a PITA to get to. I had to chop a socket to about 1/2'' and use vice grips to loosen and tighten it.

Did you make sure to put the right amount in since you filled it from the top?

I use a closed end wrench (24mm IIRC) and then I put another wrench on the end as the leverage bar so to speak. You can also buy a new one from Toyota for 15 bucks if you screwed that plug up. ;)

yeah, sometimes it's almost impossible to remove. i got mine off by placing a scissor jack under the wrench, and then slowly raising the jack until the bolt loosened.

Zero effort, and the best way to loosen tough to loosen bolts when laying under the car, IMO.

I did something similar on saturday. I was taking the bottom 3 nuts off to take off the twins and didn't have much leverage. So, I put the wrench on there and used my cargo straps for my bike trailer and hooked it to the wrench and the tranny mount and just wrenched them loose. I don't know if I'm just smart or lazy.

Actually, they are the same as I bought all new ones last week ;) (Diff and trans drain/fill plugs)

As far as taking it off, you just use the closed end over the plug then the closed end of another to go over top of the open end that is on the plug? Make sense? It is easy and will come off np. Heck do I need to take a pic? (I won't though:icon_razz )

For the magnetic plug too? Sure you do.

I see that this thread has served it's purpose so I will close it. :)
