Quiet BOV?

Is anyone aware of anything to quiet down a BOV, or a BOV model that is quiet?

I am getting really tired of this Greddy Type-S whistling all the time. It was cool when I was 18, but ten years later it grates on my nerves like listening to an 18 year old talk about the meaning of life.

If possible I'd like to keep this BOV and just get rid of the high pitch whistle. I tried recirculating, but it was just as loud because my intake pipe is 6 inches long.

I have seen luck with putting a recirculation fitting on a BOV, then running a length of pipe to the fender well to deflect/reduce the noise. Not sure if it would work in your case though since you didn't see much difference with it recirc'd.

Idk if the second nipple on the type s will quite it down or not. Never tried on mine. But I like the whistle.

Think it's supposed to be hooked up to boost or something to make it react faster.

That's exactly what the second nipple is for pretty useful.

i know its a lot of work but maybe try moving it farther down the intake, by the intercooler? It will whistle to everyone else but maybe you won't be able to hear it as much.

I did the fast opening setup on mine already so I could wind the spring tighter to hold boost better at part throttle. When it was set loose it didn't make it any quieter, it's about the same.

Running a long pipe off it might work though, especially if I get some of that corrugated plastic tube to put on the part you can't see in the fender. Might work like a muffler. I'm going to try that.

It bothers me more that other people can hear it than the noise itself bothers me. Every time it sounds off in town people look to see what it was, and I like to keep a low profile. I don't want to sound like I'm driving fast.

I put a pipe/hose off the end of the BOV on my old car, routed it to the fender, and then it just sounded like it was in the car lol, echoed up into the passenger door through the fender

Mine went from loud with stock twins to not so loud with the single. Twins is was on pass side under headlight. Single it's on drivers side under head light.
