agreed, the vr4 is a brick but the base models aren't too bad compared to the supras

The base model 3000gt in the u.s. was the dodge stealth it was a 12v v6 making 160hp and 184ft-lb

The next was SL 3000gt making decent power. The greatest power stock it ever was made at was 221hp and 204ft-lb

The vr4 were pretty much beasts from the factory

Six-speed, twin turbo, making 321hp at 5500rpm and 315ft-lb at only 2500rpm.

Not much boost lag there it seems.

and at 3100lbs to 3800lbs stock not overly heavy. Still a piggy though.

for a 3.0l doesn't do to bad

base model SL runs 16.4 quarter mile

vr4 stock runs mid 13's to low 14's depends on year.

A quicker supra could take him but he would have to have some nice modifications just to take a stock 3000gt vr4 i would imagine.

Agreed my brother bought a 94 Stealth R/T twin turbo brand new (VR4) it was still the AWS/AWD like the VR4, that thing was fast, for what it was. And to be so heavy they handle like a monster.

any way the wind blows
Yup, i love all the "generations" except the 96 97 or so front end.
love that they decided to drop that big ass wing on the vr-4s late in the later 90s.

stealths came with 12v engines, 3000gt's came with 24's, in NAs I believe..

the R/T, VR-4's were the TT ones that hauled major ass..

the 1st gens had 5 speeds as my friend has one, and the later models were 6 speed...

they're very fast, and not too shabby, defintely quicker stock than a MKIII turbo..

Love how the 7m ge tech section just turned into a debate on the prowess of the vr4

:word8kn: lol!

but anyway. i'll vouche for the quickness even on the sl's compared to our n/a's. ive gotten spanked by my friend's sl. it was a virually stock, while i have cai with a 2.5 free slowing exhaust. id say about a car and a half. i will say, they are fun to drive. still perfer my supra though.

LOL the VR4 is nice but it will struggle on a roll on... i was unimpressed when i saw a 03 350z stock for stock walk away from one on a 40 mph roll and the 350z is not quick at all..
