Hey everyone I finally got the R154 in place but now I have a question. Some background the car has a manual body harness but an auto engine with an auto engine harness.

The donor R154 I got came with a reverse switch with no wires so I bought a new one from Beck Arnley. The problem I am having is figuring out where it connects to. The wire is a lot shorter then the wires from the auto trany I removed. I cannot find another wire under the car so does this connect to something in the shifter area? Ill be off to the shop soon to try to get this done so any info would be appreciated.

Hmm i thought that since it is essentialy a manual car and trany with just an auto engine and harness i wouldnt have to make a custom harness.

Yes I messed up on my second post. What i had ment was that I thought since the vehicle was already a manual i thought the reverse switch would have tied in to the body wiring instead of up through the auto engine harness.

Extend the 2 wires from the reverse switch on the passenger side of the tranny to the driver side under the intake manifold, there should be a round 2 pin plug (with a yellow and red wire iirc) that is coming off the engine harness and runs down the center of the intake manifold with the ecu grounds

Everything bolted to the motor and trans (except for the alt), the wiring is in the engine harness.

Ah.. OK.. Hmmm I wonder if i should just try to source a good manual engine harness then so I dont need to splice anything. Although the article you linked above stated how to keep the neutral switch and backup lights working. If i followed it correctly it would take me splicing my harness, the auto trans harnes, and getting a donor pigtail. Hmm decisions decisisions.

Some one really needs to step up to the plate for us and just make and sell a plug and play kit already.
