Is a jetta a good car to daily drive, winter and all? I heard from a friend vw's break a lot, but I know some people who drive them and like them. I just want some quick answers guys! Thinking of maybe buying a car asap.

I was thinking corolla, but any of the corollas that came after the ae86 trueno just look like poop in my eyes. I've seen too many indians and imigrants driving them, and I would really not enjoy myself having to drive one. Anything else?

Can't afford new atm. Looking for something in the 5-6k range. That's canadian dollars for anyone interrested Preferably 5spd. Something that isn't gona be a burden, but sporty and cool/fun. ***Must look decent***

eric, my first car (technically) was an 86 jetta and it was a blast. diesel too, im sure you wont be disappointed in it. Whats going on with the secreet ycar you were buying? Anyway msg me and we'll talk, i havre to buy a winter car this year methinks.
If you go older, VW's get more reliable. Between 94-2002 they sort of fell apart after 80k miles... My friend had a mkII gti w/ a vr6 swapped and it had nothing but problems. He also had a 99 jetta which had nothing but problems, as well as his 02 gti.
I would go with a Corrado(SP?) if you went VW at all.
