thanks for the tip.i will be using the rebuilt auto trans from the shell with 1k on it until i do the manual conversion. oil pump is working great. if you didnt already know i am buying 2 turbo engines to rebuild. i would rather not spend to much on the GE. i think the previous owner said it was rebuild about 100k ago.

Folks, I believe everyone has gotten the point across that they don't feel mecevans can afford to own this car. Moreover I believe mecevans understands that many people here don't think he can afford the car. Point made.

Please restrict your answers to the question at hand. If you feel this is a waste of time, then please don't post at all. This is the tech section - keep it tech or GTFO.

Looks like you will need to replace the rack (much easier while the engine is out)

are you talking about the bushing etc? i do not know how much slop it has but i understand that its easier to do with the engine out. can you list the parts i need? i want to order them tonight or asap.

so far i got

front crank seal
rear main seal
FIPG

remove the motor and trans as one.

unless you want to cry.

i dont understand this..

i just replaced my engine with out removing the trans with no problem....... i understand that the trans isnt supported...but if you use a block under the car... it will work fine....

however i will say i pulled the head off the motor first... as i was going to rebuild it.. so that made getting the bell housing bolts that much easier...

so i guess it depends on your plans to choose your attack method...
