Quick newber question on the different differentals

Which Models get the 3.75, and 4.30 diff'sand which ones get the L.S.D's.??, I'm guessing the turbo's model get's the 3.75. L.S.D.'s

slightly nub question, but aside from the LSD sticker, how would one identify a junkyard diff for ratio and LSD? assuming of course it isn't in a car (which makes it easy)

Externally they're all identical, you cannot identify it.

because the factory LSD is nothing compared to a properly functioning clutch type LSD. aftermarket and TRD are generally a LOT more aggressive than the OEM one.

3.73 will get a marginally faster top end, 3.91 will be marginally quicker
3.73 is marginally better gas mileage

For JDM MA70's (Pre-89):
Automatic: 3.91:1 (LSD Optional)
Manual: 3.73:1 (LSD Standard)

No, LSD was standard on turbo models and Canadian N/A models. It was optional on the N/A in the USA for 86.5 all the way to 92.

The factory MA70 LSD is a clutch type LSD :aigo:

But you are correct the TRD and other aftermarket LSD's will be more aggressive than the factory LSD, but you will sacrifice some driveability in the name of a better performing LSD. (Noise while turning at low speeds, possibly small amount of wheel skip).

TRD/Aftermarket are typically stronger than the stock LSD, especially the Torsen LSD used in the JZA70.
