Anyone who thinks cats are 'humane' has never seen one play with a mouse until it's dead. Now there's a long, painful, terror filled process.

But it is natural.

I say use traps - and you CAN get them off the glue boards, with veggie oil. :) We used to have a mouse problem when I lived at my parents. Veggie oil gets them off the glueboard, no problem.

We caught a few random snakes that way, then just thought about it a little bit..........................................................................................................and turned the snake loose in the walls, instead :D

same could be said about certain people, but we cant just kill them now can we?

this is not a racist comment, its meant about any annoying people.....

If an annoying person touched me while I slept, carried diseases, ate my food, kept my girlfriend from wanting to sleep with me: I'd want that annoying person put out to pasture...

I got 4 regular traps and 4 ultrasonic repellents. :)

I'll keep you guys updated on the effectiveness.

While a humans can carry disease and make horrible noises (many in my immediate area fall into that category), I have yet to find any that chewed on my power/cable/phone wires, left feces in my pantry, or were repeled by cats....yet.

Gotten two with the trap in the garage and no others with the other traps.

Of course, we're using the ultrasonic things in the house, so I suppose that and the fact that we haven't seen or heard any mice for a week now is anecdotal evidence that the ultrasonic things have some value. :)

Those traps just smash right through their heads... kinda gruesome. That's why you don't fuck with me in my bed assholes...

get those glue traps, and place a little dollop of peanut butter in the middle..

you'll be attracking mice you didn't even have before..!!

They're lured in by the peanut butter, and the glue keeps them alive..

after that, place them in a plastic bag, and slam it against a wall as hard as you can three times really fast. This kills them instantly, and since they're already in a bag, you can just toss it out..

Yeah, we tried this crap as well. All we ever found was a bunch of hair in them.... awesome. Must have been mutant mice or something....

As for those death traps... if you've ever seen what they do to rodents etc. when they don't break their neck, you don't wanna use them again ever. We had mice with broken limbs, half squished, broken tails... they scream too... for a long time... it's really nice... :nono:
I hate rodents but I hate these 'traps' even more.

Lol, I'm by no means an animal lover or anything, but I'm not sure I'd have it in me to whack a living creature against a wall and bludgeon it to death.

Maybe if it was the one who just crept up my leg a week ago...

The two trap kills have been almost identical. Both got caught with their head halfway in the trap (So their head was literally smashed at the halfway point). I'm pretty certain they died as quickly as possible. The trap is very strong and obviously crushes the skull.

Ya, I saw some bigger traps first at the store and thought, HOLY SHIT, these are strong. Some of those traps could easily have de-limbed a cat or dog. :aigo:

I'm glad the ultrasonic things are working too. Bottom line, I want them gone, but it is nice to know that I don't have to kill each and every one to get rid of our rodent problem.

Plus there's no clean-up/maintenance/hazards with the ultrasonic things...

Use some nightvision/thermal goggles and a rifle. problem solved.

As for taking annoying people out... I beg to differ. Sterilization should be mandatory for those who have a low IQ or high annoying factor...

A buddy of mine has a large rodent problem, and didn't like the way these traps worked stock, so he 'fixed' them.

First, they didn't always kill. Well, after putting ~12 short roofing nails through the trap base, from the bottom up, so that the spring snaps the rodents into spiky death, this hasn't been a problem.

Second, the traps tend to bounce around from the force of the spring snapping closed. Doesn't really hurt their performance, but was annoying - plus, getting those traps back underneath the bench in the corner was a pain in the ass. So, screw the traps to a 3 foot long section of 2x4 - now they are easy to retrieve, and don't move at all when the little bastards get themselves killed.

Hacking mousetraps is FTW. :D

My friend had good luck with the black circular enclosed traps. They screw closed when the mouse gets in it so you know you caught one and the mouse is killed.

Make sure to place traps along the walls or in between the wall and furniture. Mice have poor eyesight and almost always travel against walls using their whiskers for touch.
