I am going to the store in an hour or so to get something to keep mice away. Any advice before or after would be good, but I'm getting at least one form of repellent/killer soon.

After being tickled by a fucking mouse in bed last night, I want them gone.

What method would any of you recommend?

I was looking at this, which my dad used and noticed an immediate change in the rodent population.

Not a big fan of poison and the like... we had live traps. Well, snackboxes would be more fitting. We used to live in a shit hole with a huge mouse and rat problem. Put up live traps and caught at least 2 a day. After that it was Jack Russell against rodent... :D

The only advantage to live traps is that it lets you enjoy watching while they die.

Do you know that a mouse can travel 10 miles to return to it's lair under your floorboards? Keeping this in mind, catch and release becomes too much trouble.

Pets work. So do the regular old spring loaded mousetraps. I've always avoided the poison thing myself, because we've always had either pets or children.

PS: I've tried those noise generators, and they seem to have a decent effect as well, but not as much as killing the little shits.

I would in a heartbeat if I didn't have a turbo swap to save for. ;)

Cats are free around here. Just borrow a hungry one for a week or two.:biglaugh: With poison make sure you get the type that helps mask the decomp smell. Place them anywhere you see the little crap (pantry, closet, under your bed);)

where are the mice??? if in the attic, get a black and decker pest repeller, they plug in and make an audible noise that the rodents cant stand and will eventually leave.... poisons could cause them to die in your walls and stink up the house... like i said, if in the attic, plug it in up there, at the highest setting for about a week, then turn it to the low setting... i always put it on insect and rodent. it will not harm dogs or cats, but may make other rodents go crazy

looks similar to this, and can be found at the home depot for around $30

Glue traps man all the way ! FTW - I used to have mouse problems in server rooms and offices at work. They chew on wires.....Put a glue trap here and there and you'll catch them all within a week. Then leave a few around for any new ones that show up.

even though i hate mice and rats, glue traps are the cruelest way to rid of them...

the sonic noise repellants will work great for you... or get some have a heart traps and capture them and release them nowhere near your house....

yes they are a neusance but they are still living creatures

Yeah I totally agree with it being cruel. You don't want them eating poison and suffering a slow death only to stink in the wall for months. The snap trap sometimes doesn't kill them which is terribly painful. The cat could work and is definitely eco friendly but there's alot of work with a cat....that freakin' box is a germ factory and stink machine.

You can release them from a glue trap I guess if so inclined.

He asked for fast effective mouse control and I would be wigged the heck out man if I saw one trying to share my living area with me.

No way to get anything out of a glue trap...

This is the time of year when they're bad, they're looking for warmth, and your house is it. Most traps work, as does the poison (used it forever here, and never any stink), but you still have to find how they're getting in...

Mice and rats are horrible pest that deserve no mercy. They chew up wires in you walls creating a massive fire hazard, carry disease, and make horrible chewing and scratching noises while they destroy your home. Catch and release is just literaly dumping your problem on someone elses house, or your own should they decide to return. Kill them quickly before they multiply, then get a cat to keep them away.
