If you are bored on the internet, go to any one of the many "inflation calculators". Oil was as high as $40-45 a barrell in 1980. Punch that in to 2006 value and see if it is more or less todays $70.00 a barrell.

Or a gallon that was from a dollar to a dollar and a quarter a gallon in 1980. See what you get.

I know that Ron Reagan with a stroke of a pen drastically cut prices by not regulating prices and befriending Arabs, and that was nice. But you will see that through history we are right in line with inflation.

I don't like gas at 3.00 gallon either, but it probably not change much in the long haul.

It's probably true that we are in line with inflation, but it's still BS. inflation should be gradual, not an overnight assraping. In 2000 I remember $1.08 for regular... in 2001 we drove from FL to Mass, it was still $0.89 for gas in So. Georgia. It's only been the last few years, especially after the hurricanes, that the prices have skyrocketed.

I'm not bored enough to see how fast previous gas prices jumped in the 80s, lol sorry.

right, i get from my 3 litre na supra 40 miles to £10 ive never filled mine up but are the tanks on these 70 litre? or something around there?

the price of petrol in the uk for unleaded is around about a £1 a litre or near enough £5 a gallon. its currently about 1.8 usd to a £

petrol prices in the uk take the piss to the extreeme

theres been petrol strikes here before but the government just rides roughshod over everyone.

rough guess would be u guys paying $9 a gallon to be equivelant to us. guess i should move to the us and maybe i could drive a supra more often with gas a cheap as it is over your way
(edit: i had forgoten us gallons and uk gallons are different measurements, please accept my appologies lol)

remember i think at the last time i checked 1 english pound was equivelent to 1.8 american dollars

edit: super unleaded (or whatever the american equivelant is) is usually £1.10p a litre. but remember i live in the north east of england and petrol prices down south and in london are a fair bit higher. Im pretty sure regular unleaded petrol can be as high as £1.20 a litre and possibly even more

i based it on,

1.8 usd to the pound. so its aprox £1 a litre well its 98.9 pence per litre at my local petrol station. 5 litres to the gallon approx (our petrol pumps go by the litre) i know its not exact but its the stupid eu to blame lol.

I realise its not exact but im tired and been to soccer (footy) so ive got sore feet etc lol

so £1 per litre x 5 is obviously £5 (im not trying to insult you btw its the stupid way of measuring stuff in this country bring back feet and inches i say)

1.8 usd x 5 litres = $9

ill work out 2moz how many litres to a gallon exactly then i can give a proper answer
