hi all, i have been doing a rebuild for like a year now and i plan on breaking my car in with new pistons and rods on the stock components. However i have a standalone ems that i will be adding later, so im trying to get things ready for that at the same time. my problem is i need to pass smog before running the ems, my main concern is that if i drill out the j-tube for fuel return will it have problems or maybe throw a code that wont let me pass smog. My second problem is placing the halltech sensor for timing, i would greatly appreciate a picture of a stock belt setup so i can see where to place the sensor without rubbing the belts. thanks in advance for any help.

Jtube is simply backup for the FPR. You can drill it out without fear of failing smog.

Unless the guys in CA actually pull off the fuel line and examine the J-tube itself. In which case they really need a severe kick in the nuts.

naw they dont. they just check for egr and cats and make sure its not a ilegal swap pretty much. smog testing is only done at 15 & 25 mph cruising speeds on a roller with no load.
