preface <i don't claim to, or know too much about engine control systems>

i was looking at that emanage ultimate system and it said in the advertisement that you can remove the factory air metering system. does that mean that it is just replaced with a maf system? if possible please elaborate on how it works either way...

next i'm going to go with an ffim, which one i don't know. some of them have factory option hookups like idle, cold start injector egr etc... IF i was to go with something like the emanage ultimate, could the factory options that connect to the intake manifold be programmed out of the system with the emanage? like csi, idle controller (think that's what it is) OR would something of that nature need to be done with a more expensive stand alone system like the aem ems?

not many people have used the e-man ultimate and even fewer have had good results from it.

that said yes it can take over alot of the functions of the stock ecu. that said you'd be better off with an AEM. if you arent too knowledgable about cars and their control devices you shouldnt be attempting to do any of this really until you get more experience.

My advice to you would be to skip the whole piggy back thing and put a standalone in the car ... In the long run you will be happier with the results regardless of whether it is a simple bpu or an all out race car

yes, i understand fully the standalone is lightyears better. it's also alot more expensive, that system cost more than i paid for the car...

would i be better off to just forget the ffim, stick with the stock intake manifold, stock location (but upgraded of course) and go with the standalone?

it really depends on your goals for the engine.

right, because since everyones goals are different it really depends on you. For instance, for my motor thats soon to be running Its still going to be on the Ct26 for awhile, but I still have a FFIM with a Q45 and reducing it back down just having that size there so its there when I need it. And yet a Ill still be gaining using the CT with it because my IC piping is so much shorter and simpler....oh and not to mention my Buddy fabbed up the FFIM for me....and it didnt cost me a dime.:naughty:

yes but minus the standalone. unless you are shooting for over 500rwhp i dont see a strong need to spend that kind of cash.

fast, reliable, cheap. pick 2

500 whp, if i have to spray it to do so i will. what size turbo.. who knows, i'll have to get suggestions on that part.

i understand totally that the standalone would work better, but what electronics would i need for someone to tune this thing, with a standalone out of the question. the only piece i know i want for sure is a maf system

yeah man, 500 is as high as i want to go, i'm not looking to build some monster that will do a 100mph burnout and outrun a busa. what electronics do you think i would need to run the engine at that level?

you could always go the maft-pro route.

i was thinking that the maft-pro would only allow the system to run a maf setup. clearly i was wrong on that. maybe i can get educated a bit if some wouldn't care to enlighten me?

engine itself and fuel system i have covered

running maft pro something like this kit (http://www.suprasport.com/Complete-MAFT-PRO-install-Solution_p_245-687.html)

what else will i need other than a good wideband?
