Hey,
I used to have an 88 7m-gte, which i ended up spending an arm and a leg to re-hab, so i had to sell the car, and i am looking to get another MKIII b/c i love them so much. Now I know i'm going to do a 1jz swap, but i just need a few questions answered first. What is the general strength of this motor ie: when is a good time to forge, and sleeve the block? What is the difference b.t a "soarer" type motor and a regular 1jz-gte? Are the 1jz's as strong as the 2jz's from the factory? To be honest i think thats what i want to know the most! What will i need for this swap besides, ecu, wiring, tranny, motor, turbos, exhaust, and intakes? Also, i'm shooting for a modest 500whp on this engine, what would be the most critical parts needed to modify? I have my own tuning shop so getting the parts is not the issue, i just have no personal experience with the 1jz, and have never taken the time to learn about it! Thanks for the help in advance!
and MERRY XMAS!
