currently i have a frankensteined exhaust that has 2 resonators on it. they drag on speed bumps making driving through my neigborhood a complete pain in the ass. I have a ets cat back exhaust waiting to go on, but it starts post cat. my current exhaust bolts right to the downpipe. my question is, are all test pipes the same length? or would i need something fabricated?

unrelated to this, was wondering about the targa top and the supra 'wet noodle effect'. after a few bouts of spirited driving, the top gets loose. i only take the top off when im working in the cabin. can i use lock-tite to secure the targa bolts? or do i need to get in the habit of just checking them anytime i take the car out? if so, which lock-tite would be best to use?

I think all test pipes are made to the factory cat length, at least all I've ever seen, so it's mostly a bolt on affair. As far as the targa, I suppose you could use loctite on the targa bolts, but why? You live in Florida man, enjoy something that most cars don't have.

If you want a sports car then buy one, if you want a GT (Gran Touring) car buy / keep your supra.

eh, whats that supposed to mean? all the guys drag racing their supras should get sports cars too??

I use a full size ratchet to tighten my targa bolts snug, and they never come loose.

do you recall what size allen head fits it? currently i just use an allen wrench thats had the head filed to fit

Not all cats and test pipe are the same length. The 7mgte is has a very short cat.

if i get a test pipe for an 86.5-92 supra, it should fit then?

Also, if you're not torquing the targa bolts in the correct order they will come loose or you'll strip them...

No comment on the test pipe, I've stated my opinion on them many times...

there are only 2 reasons to run a test pipe:
-you're running leaded race gas all the time
-you're being cheap

Modern high flow cats have been shown to flow as much as a test pipe while not making anyone behind you on a cruise have their eyes burning from your exhaust...
