Tokico/Eibach combo is the way to go. I just ordered a set for the newly arrived 91 I just bought. Had the combo on my 86.5, 87T, and 90T. No problems and enjoy the ride/handling.

for your edification... KYB told me that KYB's arent intended for lowered vehicles. they will not warranty their shocks/struts if you TELL them they were on a lowered car. then, if you lie to them and say they were NOT on a lowered car, they tell you to ship back your AGX/GR2's to them on your dime so they can do a failure analysis and determine whether or not they will replace your blown KYB's.

That sucks, I guess they didn't read their own warranty:

"The warranty is void if the product is used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or in an aftermarket coilover suspension system."

At any rate, my poor ass is going to be installing a set tomorrow. Guess I'll see how they hold up.

moral of the story, dont bother putting KYB's on a car thats lowered more than 1.0" because they wont stand behind their product when its used on Lowered cars, i wouldnt push my luck if i were any of you.

i learned the hard way and had a full set of AGX's fail on my old DSM that was lowered on Intrax springs after about 5 months. but it looked bad ass.. even with those 16" enkeis and 205/40's

I'm just curious if any sort of consensus had ever been reached. Personally, I've hear far more negative commentary about Tokico than KYB. I only brought up what Flubyux had to say because I read the KYB warranty which conflicts with what happened to him.

There are going to be all kinds of different opinions. The best thing to really do is go to a large meet and gather your info there. You can see the height and get a feel for the suspension easier that way.

I am on my 2nd set of Eibach/Tokico combo and have been in a car w/ST-Tokicos and did not like how it felt (he even had the ST swaybars). In their case tho, they did have to return/replace the springs because they eventually (a couple of years) sagged alot lower than expected.

koni's are expensive and a bit....unreliable by what I've experienced...

eibach and bilstein has been a GREAT combon on a lot of cars, I'm interested in trying it on my car and I could get the bilstein's revalved if needed...

Ran bilstien/ST on my car, and loved it. plus being able to lower the car more buy adjusting the spring perch. like a psuedo coilover.

there is a sleave you can buy for the bilsteins that makes it into a pretty decent coilover as well...

bilsteins are VERY durable, can be revalved easily (and upgraded if needed) and I've only seen ONE blown bilstein, and it was from jumping a truck off a 6' drop...
