Question for the pros.

Seems like on a diesel P1, the gearbox is the loudest thing on it at low speed.

Looks like the V8 Supercars (to some extent) do use that Aussie made company's box.

Id kill for a Hollinger rd6-s, if they made them quiet of course. Is this what they use in the v8 Supercars? If so they scream like a banshee possessed, ear plugs are a must.lol.

Yep fine if you have earplugs and a helmet

They use a strain gauge on the Shift handle that does the shift cut and you just hold the throttle flat and don't touch the clutch.

I remember that

About right for the "gunna" Mk3 community though.....

as in "I'm gunna do this and I'm gunna do that" and it never actually happens..

yea it was quite a while ago. I wish i had looked at in more detail. for some reason though i dont think it was a true sequential. ill try to see if I can dig up some details on it.

regardless all im saying is they do exist, they wont be cheap and IMHO are not needed. you can always dog the gears in the r154 and no lift shift it in the standard H pattern

after further research I have remembered what I originally was thinking about. It does not do true up and down sequential shifting it is described here.

If you could find one of the Stillway shifters it'd only be half an ass load of money so more fitting with the average Mk3 build

Nope you use it with a 154 so normal Toyota trans noises only.

Right, should have been more clear, I intended it to be instead of a strain gauge/lever.

Stillway shifter only did upshifts sequentially and it was designed for drag racing. It's also discontinued for the MKIV...

Also after some research only did 4 gears..... so TOTAL waste of time tracking one down sorry for the bum steer.

It's really NOT sequential either, just guides it into the gears so you just push up/down instead of side to side.

If someone had great knowledge of how the tranny worked they might be able to do something like the twin stick transfer case shifters, but that's just added complexity.

As long as the shifter is close to the steering wheel (hint: stock is this way and the SOGI mod ruins it), shifting is fine...
